C&O Canal

Imagine biking from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC (340+ miles) all off-road on the Allegany Rail to Trail and the C&O Canal Tow Path. No cars or traffic as we leave Pittsburgh on trails winding alongside the Youghiogheny River to Ohiopyle, PA for white water rafting and Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater" home. Enjoy the cool shade from the canopy of trees on either side of the path as well as the natural air conditioning each tunnel provides. Other highlights include: biking through a 3/4 mile tunnel, riding a 19th century canal boat, and visiting the Civil War town of Harper's Ferry. The last 2 days we'll sight-see in our nation's capital.
